Breakfast

According to many scientific studies, the Cretan-Mediterranean diet is considered of high nutritional value with many positive elements for the health of the human body. The ancient Minoans 4,000 years ago cultivated barley and wheat, and used olive oil, honey, cheese, fruits and other products from the Cretan land in their diet.

Coming from a mountain village of Psiloritis, the Damianakis family was raised based on the values of Cretan hospitality and the healthy Cretan diet and is now offering three different rich breakfast choices made with local, traditional, high-quality products from selected producers that not only fully cover your breakfast needs but can also substitute for a second meal during the day.

Welcome Gift

The tradition of hospitality in Crete has a history spanning many centuries. Welcoming and caring for guests is in the nature of all Cretans and that is why the Damianakis family, faithful to the values and traditions of Crete, has made sure to offer a unique welcome gift to its guests.

Guests arriving in their suite at Volta Suites & Villas after a tiring trip will find themselves in front of a very pleasant surprise. A gracious gift basket of selected quality Cretan products to whet their appetite, quench their thirst and relax while enjoying a light meal, getting ready to head for their first Volta in Crete.

Departure Gift

Back in the day, the Cretans offered all of their guests a gift of departure, as a sign of friendship and a promise to meet again. The gift of departure included products that they produced and used in their daily lives such as olive oil, aromatic plants, olives and other goodies.

The Damianakis family, faithful to the traditions and values of Crete, provides its guests with the very same departure gift (PESKESI) made of selected local, traditional products, suggesting that as soon as they arrive home they can invite their friends, treat them with some Cretan delicacies and share with them some of the beautiful memories from the island. For this reason, make sure to keep some space in your suitcase to pack the unique PESKESI, which we are always trying to make as unique as you are.

Volta Green

Respecting the environment is not only a sign of culture but also an urgent need to protect the planet that hosts us and to ensure conditions of safe and quality living for the next generations.

The Damianakis family comes from a small mountain village, Nivrito, located at the foot of Mount Psiloritis where wildlife dominates, and sought all options that were possible to protect and respect the environment.

Gym & Wellness

In addition to the comfortable and fully equipped suites, Volta Suites and Villas offers a fully equipped gym where guests can stay active during their stay. The gym includes an air bike, rowing machine, workout benches, free weights and a rack, making it ideal for a simple but complete training session.

After their workout, guests can relax in our traditional wooden sauna before enjoying a refreshing swim in the pool.

Guests can also enjoy beautiful rides along the coastal road of Kato Gouves with the brand-new bicycles available at the property.

Experience

What does "Volta" mean?

Volta is Greek for a stroll. The name doubles as an invitation: guests are welcomed to go on a volta around Gouves and find the places only locals know.

What breakfast do you offer?

The Damianakis family prepares three different rich breakfast choices made with local, traditional products from selected producers. Each is filling enough to stand in for a second meal during the day. Room service breakfast is available at an additional charge.

What are the welcome and departure gifts?

On arrival, a basket of selected Cretan products waits in your suite. On departure you receive the PESKESI, a traditional farewell gift of local products such as olive oil and olives, meant to be shared with friends back home.

What gym and wellness facilities does Volta have?

A fully equipped gym with an air bike, rowing machine, workout benches, free weights and a rack, plus a traditional wooden sauna and the pool. Bicycles are available for rides along the coastal road of Kato Gouves.
